Who is Megan?
Megan Gwyn (they/them) is an actor, artist and Aquarius. Megan was born and raised just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. There was no doubt that Megan was going to grow up to be some kind of performer. It was a family trade. Both of their parents are professional figure skaters and toured nationally with Ice Capades in the 90s. Megan was also fortunate to have a grandmother who was heavily involved with the Cinderella Pageant’s North Carolina branch.
After their first summer with Matthew’s Playhouse, Megan knew that they were going to be an actor. That was the kind of performing and entertaining they wanted to do. They participated in a number of children’s community theater around Charlotte and when they were heading to high school they were accepted into one of the Charlotte area’s arts high schools, Central Academy of Technology and Arts.
After high school, Megan left North Carolina to attend The Hartt School at The University of Hartford. While attending The Hartt School Megan performed with Hartford Stage in their annual Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol, as well as their world premiere production of Elizabeth Williamson’s adaptation of Jane Eyre. Megan graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2020 with their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Actor Training. After graduation Megan spent a few years in Atlanta, GA obsessing over the massive aquarium the city has to offer and enjoying the music scene.
Growing up, Megan always dreamed of being able to say they live in New York. As of 2023 that dream became reality. Megan has very much loved every second of being in New York and is so thankful to be able to call it home.
